Seay Us Play Soccer

Ready or not soccer is here. Let me share with everyone how our Saturdays are owned completely by soccer, good thing we enjoy it. Saturday Sept. 6 was opening day for everyone. We started off our morning at Pierce College for Spencer's game, followed by rushing over to Santa Paula for Brooke's game. We then had 2 hours off. After a quick bite to eat Mike and I play on an indoor co-ed soccer league and our game was next. Following our game Tyler had a game here in Camarillo. If that wasn't enough soccer for one day Mike and I took Brooke and Spencer to the Galaxy game at the Home Depot Center.
This is Brooke's third year playing club soccer with REAL. Honestly I don't think there is anything Brooke enjoys more than soccer. She is such a great soccer player and so much fun to watch. Brooke plays sweeper and in their first game they won 2 to 0.
This is Spencer's first year playing club soccer. Which is going to be kind of a balancing act having two kids on traveling teams. Good thing for friends and carpooling. He is following in Brooke's footsteps and is also playing fullback (defense). Their team played well and they should have a fun season. If there is an award for slide tackling I am sure Spencer would get it he is very aggressive and on the ground a lot.
Tyler started his first year plying soccer with AYSO. He was so excited. He has been practicing for the past couple of weeks in the backyard. He sets up cones and tries to dribble around them. It is hard to know what to expect in the first game at this age. Will they get scared and not want to play? Will they dribble the wrong way? Will they sit down and pick the grass? Will they talk to their friends? Well I was amazed at how much Tyler picked up from watching Brooke and Spencer, because he played really well and he had 5 goals. Finally Mike can have a kid that plays a forward. Way to go Ty!
Brooke's soccer team was invited to the Galaxy game with many other teams to come down on the field before the game and have a parade of champions. We have never been to a professional soccer game and we all had a blast. Thank you Grandma Sue for watching Tyler and Jake. Brooke was on the big screen along with her team as they were walking around the field.
I was able to get 2 for 1 tickets so the Wallers, Hansens, Sheri, and Mel were all able to come. It is always fun to hang out with friends. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves. The only thing that would have been better if Beckam was there. The game ended in a tie 2-2.

Sounds like a normal awesome fun day! I want to hear about the Galaxy game - totally worth it? Better than a hockey game?
